Electronic Fuel Injection Control System

The present invention relates to electronic fuel injection control system or fuel Delivery Optimizer and related method of operation for a combustion ignition engine which integrates a computerized, programmable digital electronic controller unit. This electronic fuel injection control system can control the operation of injectors at the injector leads. This system includes an in-line fuel delivery controller that interfaces directly with a specific injector. There is also a microchip control device that controls the activity of multiple chips installed in the engine. This microchip control device also interfaces with a series of relays, voltage control, and ignition coils.

An example of such an in-line system is disclosed in U.S. Patent Application Ser. No. 12/026, titled "Fuel Control System for Electric Motors." Here, it is shown that a user programmable logic engine includes a control module having one or more processors. The user programmable logic engine can include a scheduler, an instruction manual, a control module, and/or a non-instruction set instruction manual. The control module controls the timing of electric current into the injector, which causes it to ignite fuel at an appropriate time when the fuel passes through the injector and ignite the fuel, thus allowing the engine to run.

An example of a non-instruction set manual is disclosed in U.S. Patent Application Ser. No. 12/027, titled "Fuel Management Systems." Here, it is shown that a user programmable logic engine includes a control module having a microchip and an application programmable logic processor. A control module controls the timing of electric current into the microchip driven injector and its application program allows a complete description of the timing requirements to the user, which enables easy control of the system. Also, the user programmable logic engine includes an injector drive system that delivers fuel to the engine.

The fuel injection system is made up of many microchips controlled by a microprocessor, and these microchips are programmed via an application software using instructions stored in an internal flash memory device. The microchip controls the firing timing of each injector, thereby allowing the fuel injector to fire at the precise instant when fuel is required. The electronic fuel injection control system is programmed to provide a continuous flow of fuel to the engine, in case of engine light indication, without additional servicing or modifications to the system.

Electronic fuel injection systems can also be programmed to allow a user to adjust the amount of fuel to be injected into the combustion chamber at any particular time. For instance, if a user wants to increase the amount of fuel added to the system, he or she can easily select a parameter that offers a higher amount of fuel. Likewise, if a user wants to decrease the fuel injected into the system, he or she can easily adjust the parameter that decreases the amount of fuel. It is evident from the above examples that there are a wide range of electronic fuel injection control systems manufactured for different purposes. They can even operate on fuel blend levels, which makes them very suitable to general purpose diesel engines.

However, it is not only general purpose diesel engines that can be controlled electronically. There are also many fuel injectors designed for specific applications, such as marine applications. In fact, one of the most popular marine applications is called "fire trucks" or "fire trucks' which are fitted with fuel injection systems. As you can see, there are a lot of different types of electronic fuel injection control systems that are available to consumers. So, if you are looking to purchase one for your application, make sure you choose one that best suits your needs.
